Strengths and Weakness's
Georgia's first attempt to a constitutional government was initiated in April 1876 by the Provincial Congress. This document provided a framework for the transition from colony to state. It was later completed in February 1777. On January 2, 1788, Georgia became the fourth state to ratify the United States Constitution. November of that year, to assure conformity with the federal document, Georgia began a revision of its state constitution in convention.
